I’d rather watch Reggie Williams and Stephen Silas play HORSE. Williams is the only guy on the team who will ever play in the NBA. He had 23/7/5.

Warriors v Wizards. John Wall’s in town.

The Warriors are starting Brian Chase and Jason Rich in the backcourt, Reggie Williams and Andre Brown up front and Kim Tillie in the middle. Deal with that shit. I really think they should turn down the arena lights and announce summer league players 1996 Chicago Bulls style. Brandan Wright is not playing for what they are calling “precautionary reasons” after banging up his shoulder last game.

Brian Chase makes me think I shouldn’t have stopped playing. If he can play summer league…

Reggie Williams, on the other hand, just gets buckets. Playing against guys like him is why I stopped playing. Oh, yeah, now I remember. And I’m pretty sure Ben Woodside feels the same way playing against John Wall. Nobody should be as fast with a basketball in their hand as Wall is.

Andre Brown has more fouls than combined points and rebounds.

Nellie was interviewed before the game and asked if he liked what he was seeing so far in summer league and he said, “not really.” Good answer.

Warriors lose 84-79.

I have a very strict policy against watching summer league basketball on consecutive days.

Warriors v Hornets.

With a presumably very drunk Don Nelson watching from the stands, the Warriors tip off with a lineup of Ben Woodside, Reggie Williams, Joe Ingles, Andre Brown and Brandan Wright. Dynamite.

The fact that Brandan Wright is still unproven enough to be playing in the summer league in his 4th year is pretty depressing. So is the fact that he got blocked on his first two shot attempts by some guy who will be working @ Home Depot in a couple weeks. He’s still very long and athletic, even if the bulk he supposedly added in the offseason looks like it might have been a little creactive advertising by his agent. He gets back in the game by leading a break and dishing to Reggie Williams for a bucket, blocking a few shots of his own and banking in a 22 footer from the top of the key. Hopefully he can give the Warriors some good minutes off the bench this year.

Ben Woodside will probably never play in the NBA but he can shoot. He’s going to be a tough cover in church rec leagues for the next 20 years or so.

Reggie Williams can flat score. How did this guy not get drafted? I don’t see a huge difference between him and James Harden.

Brian Chase, a 29 year-old 5’10″ off guard who according to Brent Barry (doing color commentary) “struggled to score in Spain last year,” checks into the game. Sounds like a good prospect.

20-18 Warriors after 1.

Even the Warriors’ summer league team is small. And they are struggling to contain a guy named Sean Sonderleiter so the team looks to be rounding into midseason form.

Wright looks rusty but active. He looks like he’s improved his face-up, off-the-dribble game. Still doesn’t rebound, though.

Jason Rich looks like he can do a few things (insert J-Rich comment/joke/memory here.)

Andre Brown is a pretty good athlete for a guy listed @ 6’10″ 240. He almost brings the house down with an explosive dunk but unfortunately also almost breaks the rim by slamming it into the back rim and out to halfcourt.

Barry, speaking for Warrior fans everywhere, says “I’d just like them to pick a direction. Any direction. There’s 4 of ‘em, just pick one.”

Ben Woodside dribbles just inside the halfcourt marker, staring at the shotclock, thinking he’s going to take last shot of the half, before Reggie Williams reminds him that he’s Ben Woodside and demands the ball and hits a pretty fadeaway 22 footer from the top of the key while getting fouled with 2 seconds left.

45-38 Hornets @ halftime.

It’s halftime and it’s Friday night. Time to leave this game early and go out and get drunker than Nellie. Go Warriors.
