Feel free to put a hand on someone next game, Jamal

by Tanner on January 15, 2009

Jamal Crawfor set an NBA record last night. Congratulations are in order, right?

Well, maybe not, but it is a pretty special and unbelievable record. Crawfor played 60 minutes and committed 0 fouls. That is the most minutes an NBA player has ever played in a single game without committing a foul.

That’s 5 full quarters without a hand-check, an over-the-back or a block. Obviously, steals, fouls and other defensive stats aren’t necessarily indicative of a player’s defensive ability, but for a guy like Crawford, for whom the jury already done come in with guilty verdict of negligence, 60 minutes and 0 fouls is truly a transcendant performance. I especially liked when he watched Kevin Martin go to the hoop for a game-tying dunk with 20 seconds left in the game instead of trying to stop him.

The Oakland Warriors: where records that don’t help you win happen.
